A hilarious dating sim with live chat

Flirt is a simulation video game wherein you can test your romancing skills against other players. Developed by Lighthouse Games Studio, this silly 3D online multiplayer game is a dating simulator that offers tongue-in-cheek humor with its gameplay mechanics.

Similar to the developer’s other game, Comedy Night, Flirt has you actually talking to other players with your microphone in order to win. Everything here is all just you trying your best to charm others with your pick-up lines and conversational skills. However, the lack of available players makes it all fall flat.

Turn up the charm

In Flirt, you get to play as a customizable avatar that looks like a bobblehead figurine. You can choose your gender and what gender you’re looking to chat up with your suave lines. You can even create non-human characters and interact with other non-humans. Everything is fair game here and the only thing you need to bring to your date is your social skills.

During the gameplay, you can freely talk to the player partnered with you, and both of you can react and rate whatever the other is saying. You can earn Love points this way and it shows how well you’re doing with your dates. However, since this is essentially a dating platform like Omegle and Tinder—albeit satirical in nature—expect that sometimes, interactions won’t always go well.

This is a completely different issue from the one that constantly plagues the game, though. Here, there are hardly any active players around so the game tends to feel dead. This is usually the problem with games that completely rely on the multiplayer aspect. It doesn’t help that you can only do one-on-one sessions and not with an entire group like in Comedy Night.

Badly needs some reworking

All in all, while Flirt seems like a great concept for a dating sim, it’s not really executed in the best of ways. You can customize your character and meet all kinds of people, but due to the lack of players online, you’ll tend to wait a long while in the lobby. The developer’s other game had been more successful since it allows for 2 or 3 players together.
